English blogs
There are many ways of learning english. There are the traditional ways of studing and practicing it, like for example with books and work books; and also there are new and different ways to learn this language.
In our english class we are learning and practicing the language by writting in our own blogspot, as a homework about different topics, things, and our opinions. This is the last blog assignment and we have to write about the advantages and disadvantages of using blogs in the English classroom.
I think writting in our blogs it is an interesting way of learning english. I think that it is an interactive way of knowing more about different topics, in our case topics related to our own career, so you learn words, meanings and terms that you could use them on the future and this way have experience in english in your area.
Another advantage that I think this activitie has is that helps to improve our way of writing in english, write about your opinions, suggestions, personal preferences, etc. I think this is a very good idea you lern to express yourself in english for different circunstances, so you learn expressions that are not usually used.
In the other hand , thi activity has also dissadvanteges. One of them i think that is that there are sometimes you don't want to write about the topic your asked for. Also sometimes it takes a lot of time doing them after your english classes, so there are sometimes that you have to postpone all your new homeworks written as entries in you blogs because that moment you can't do it.
Finally after evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of using this way for learning english, I think there are more importat the advantages that it has, so you can have a a lot of good advantages if you use it, you can win and take profit of it much more than you could really lose.
It is a good way of keeping the peopler getting interested in different things anda at the same time having a better contact with this other language they want to learn.

Last movie
The last movie I saw was "Lo mejor de nuestras vidas", the original name of the film is in french and it's called "Fauteuils d'orchestre". The movie stars are Cécile De France, Valérie Lemercier, Albert Dupontel, Laura Morante. It was filmed in France last year, the director is Danièle Thompson. This film is a drama movie where all the caracters are going to find each other end cross their lifes and they are going to meet each other at the Café des Théâtres. There is a popular actress of soap opera that wants to get to be more famous and act in a movie; there is also a talented pianist that dreams to play with an ignorant public, a pieces of art coleccionist that decide to sell all the pieces of art that he owns in one night and a youg provincian that it's looking for luck in Paris.
Personally I loved the movie because it has a different content, it is not a predictable movie, it is full of feelings, tells every caracter life and personal desires. I think it was a very good film and I recommended it to see it i hope you like it as i did!!

This assignment consists on writing an evaluation or a criticism about a classmate’s blogspot. I don’t really have a favorite one because I think that they are all different and unique, but since I have to choose one I think that I would choose Carlas’s blogspot. Her blogspot has a very interesting title, her posts are really fun and interesting to read, and whenever she uploads pictures they are all beautiful. She always uses the black color, and I think that it is chracteristic of her way of dressing, so it's a par of herself. I think it's cool the color of the letters, also she has a lot of details about whatever she is commenting on. My favorite post of her is the one where she uploaded a picture and then described her favorite piece of art. I like this post, because this is also one of my favorite paintings, and the way she describes this piece of art is amazing.What I also like about this blogspot is that she has a good english so she doesn't have any mistakes. Her links are also really interesting and every now and then I also use them. Well this is my comment about my favorite blogspot, and I look forward to see you all in class and that you could read this post so you could learn more opinions and make some changes on your own blogs.

Fiestas Patrias
Well, on "Fiestas patrias", I couldn't do many things, because I had to work. But I'm going to talk about everything I wish I had done for that holiday.
I had a lot of plans for that holiday, many of my friends invite me to the different activities that they were organizing at their houses, or to go to some place but in group. There were different plans as go to a "Fonda" which is a place where there are a lot of sellers, of different things to eat and drink, as empañanas, pipeño, terremoto, anticuchos, choripan, etc; which are the things that are tipically ate on that holiday.
There were other plans as going to some friends houses becuase they were having barbecues, where everybody is encharged to take to the owner of the house things to eat, to drink, so later they can all share toghether a grate meal an later drink alcohol and dance until next day.
I wish I have had the time to do all this things and spend all the holiday with my friends and parents, but my obligations called me, so I could not avoid them; hope you with your friends and family have had a good time.

Oswaldo Guayasamín "Maternidad"
Oswaldo Guayasamin was born in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, the 6th of July de 1919. He graduates as a paintor and Scultor in the "Bellas Artes de Quito" school art. He has his first exposition when he was 23 years old, en 1942.
I have saw this piece of art many years ago when I was at school and the art teachers took as to this great museum that was build in honor to this paintor. I chose this piece of art of Oswaldo Guayasamín because it is called "Maternidad" maternity in english, and I think that it really express a lot of protection, care, love in this paint. I think is a really good piece of art.

Schizophrenia is a serious brain disorder. It is a mental disease, in which patients experience personality changes and damage the persons social activities. Wich provokes anxiety on themselves and their families.
People who suffer from schizophrenia have different symptoms, it depends on the type of the illness. But in common they suffer of hearing and cenestesic hallucinations, they can feel as if their were possesed by somebody else, feel that the rest of the people can hear or know what they are thinking, and also they can tell that they feel as some part of their body is changing.
They have disorganised and abnormal thinking, behaviour and language and become emotionally unresponsive or withdrawn.
Sciencetist still dosen´t know how people get this illness. Some researches have demosntrate that genes may play an important role because you are more likely to get schizophrenia if somebody in your family has this disorder. There is an hipothesis developed by some sciencetist which says that schizophrenia sufferers have some parts of the brain that have not developed in the normal way, an finally environmental factors as poverty, stress, drug abuse, can also play a role.
Schizophrenia is a severe, chronic (long-term) brain disorder which interferes with the ability to think clearly, separate fantasy from reality, handle emotions, make decisions and relate to other people. Although schizophrenia is treatable, relapses are common and the illness may never fully resolve.
Despite extensive research there is still no known "cure" for schizophrenia. However, the outlook for people with schizophrenia has improved greatly in the last few decades and many people can be treated outside hospital and live within the community for most of their lives.
In addition anti-psychotic medicines are available to treat the worst symptoms of the illness, such as hallucinations, but there is no "cure" at present.

Summary
Factors related with young people's acttitudes to de consumption of alcohol psychoactive substances.
In this study the investigators and writers of the paper, had analyzed variables related to the consumption of alcohol and other psychoactive substances in young people, and to their attitudes towards experimentation. They made their investigantion on a sample of 775 persons between 12 anda 16 years, from four secondary schools in Spain. The results that the investigators obteined confirm that there are many factors that influence a person to consume alcohol and other illegal drugs. The factors or variables that makes a person more propense to have an acttitud of consuption were:
- Lower perception of risk
- Mistaken beliefs about the drug
- The permissive actitud to experience
- Their relation ships with groups that are used to use drugs and have antisocial behaviors
- Intentions to search for attention from the other people.
This kind of studies are very helpful for psychologysts because it makes us try to change or make more enphasis on the results that this kind of investigations so to find a solution to this social problems.

My last weekend
So in my past weekend I spend a very good time. I had too many things to do, but I was tired because I had a lot of work to do during the week; so I decided to do activities that I don't use to do. First on Friday I went out with my friends to a birthday party and I dance all night long. I really spend a good time. On saturday I decided to go with all my family to Fantasilandia that is an entreteiment park, where I really enjoied because I love adrenaline and also because I haven't spend time with my family lately.
And in the afternoon I when to my job and I worked from 5 o'clock pm until 1 o'clock in the morning. It was a very agitated day but I loved it. And finally on sunday I rested in the mnornin, I slept until 12 o 'clock pm and then went to work again.
It was a very interesting weekend I had a very good time and right now I don't have photographs but I have them home so i will post them as soon as I can. I hope you liked reading about my weekend. Love you all take care.

The mechanisms of defense are unconscious resources used by the ego to reduce a conflict between the identity and superego, so in this way they can reduce feelings of anxiety. For that reason they are more frecuently referred as ego defense mechanisms. These are describe in the psychoanalytic theory. What I have learned about it is that there are different types of this mechanisms, which are different between them in the característics of the type of structure that the person that use them, has. So they can be classified en three types: low mechanisms of defense (or primitives), intermediate and high.
The first ones are used principally by people who has a psychotic structures, and the other two are used by limit and neurotic structures respectivly.
This are the general caracteristic about them I would like to know better how they work and if I can see them manifested in pacients.

About me!!!
Hi! my name is Consuelo Sandoval. I was born in Ecuador but actually i'm living in Santiago de Chile. I study psychology at the University of Chile and also I work at an argentinian restaurant in Parque Arauco's mall (it has very good ice creams!! come to visit me).
Well this blog is part of my english class at the University, I belief it's a very good way for knowing better all my classmates and also my teacher.
